roman vardijan, founder of the fashion archive Nightboutique, has built an extensive collection of historic Maison Martin Margiela pieces dating back to 1989. Driven by a long-term desire to work in an artistic context with his collection of “soft-vintage” high fashion the idea to this project was born.
To showcase the legacy of Maison Martin Margiela‘s work we have selected key items that reflect the house‘s 20-year evolution until Martin Margiela‘s resignation in 2009. shot in an alpine location, this homage highlights the importance of “Trompe-l‘œil” – the optical illusions – and the deconstructive approach of his work.
